Lisod man palandungon ug hunahunaon, apan sigurado gayod ako nga aduna nay mga inosenteng nailad aning grupuha.

ON SURIGAO KILLINGS

Killing is an act of causing death and it is synonymous to murder, assassination, homicide, manslaughter, elimination, putting to death and execution. In our laws, it is considered as a grave offense and punishable by greater penalty of imprisonment—Reclusion Perpetua.

Killing is an act that disrespects people’s right to life and is a condemnable act.

The recent killings of members of ALCADEV and MAPASU in Surigao del Sur is considered very inhuman and is an evidence that human rights violation is still rampant in our society despite thousands of laws that promotes life and despite existence of organizations that champions it. What is more disagreeable to the incident was that, the persons killed are those people considered members of organizations who ‘worked for the community.’

The ALCADEV, the organization where one of the victims is a member of, is an organization that aims to provide education to indigenous youth. It is with the joint effort of other indigenous peoples organizations in CARAGA region like MAPASU, KALUNASS, KASALO, TRIFPSS-NGO and SILDAP-SIDLAKAN, organizations known to be affiliated to left leaning organizations like KARAPATAN.

While we abhor and condemn the killings of these people, we cannot discount the fact that witnesses said that it is the BAGANI, the tribal guards of the Lumads who killed them. We cannot discount the fact that these BAGANIs are empowered by their culture and tradition and we account discount the fact the victims are also Lumads who adheres to the same culture and tradition as their killers.

While it is hard to believe and understand that these BAGANIs, their formation and foundation is linked to the Armed Forces of the Philippines, because it is an open fact that it is part of the Lumads’ culture and tradition, we also have to look into how the victims were killed.

We know that Lumads are peace-loving people. They value relationships and respect other people’s rights and views. It is even in their culture that if somebody does something good to them, they will look up to that person for a lifetime. However, if somebody trespass them, step on their rights and degrade them, they will never forget and forgive until the person is persecuted.

According to reports, the victims were brutally killed or over-killed which may mean that the perpetrators hold huge grudge against them.  Could it be possible that the victims violated their culture and their laws that is why they are persecuted that way?  Could it be that the victims are also like the Datus or the leaders of the “support groups” of Lumads in Haran? Who have deceived and fooled their fellow Lumads? Or could they be victims of purging?

After all that have been said and reported, the question remains, why the victims were killed by their fellow Lumads? Or why the victims were killed by Magahat-Bagani who is known of their anti-NPA activities?

IT WAS AN ENCOUNTER NOT A MASSACRE

It was a legit encounter and not a massacre.

Contrary to what the left leaning organizations have been proliferating in the media regarding the death of the (5) Lumads that they were strafed and massacred, evidences would show that there was an encounter between the members of the New Peoples Army were the Lumads are member of and the personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Yes, the people who died are Lumads and studies shows that greater percentage of the members of the rebel group, NPA are Lumads.

PLEASE CHECK YOUR FACTS

The entire Filipino surely weeps for the loss of the lives of our fellow citizens.

WE AGREE THAT THEY DESERVE JUSTICE AND THEY DONT DESERVE THEIR SUDDEN DEATH.

However, KARAPATAN Alliance for the Advancement of People's Rights, Save Our Schools Network Mindanao, Save Our Schools Network, you are known groups who stand as bearer of those who experienced injustices and are known groups championing Human Rights, it would be a shame on your part if you, yourselves would do injustice and violation against your fellow kababayan.

Check your facts before saying anything; make sure that your facts are real facts before publishing your statements. As usual, you jump or make conclusions before your proper investigations and that would be unfair to the people you pinpoint as perpetrators to the crime. Bluntly, it is unfair to the members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines who you alleged as criminals to the killings.

Please check if the area is really under the battalion you said are present before and during the time of the killings. Please check of the validity and existence of "your" so-called paramilitary groups. Are they really formed by the AFP for the purpose of terrorizing people?

Well, it is you who said that the victims were persecuted by the Bagani and we all know, or you know as masters of history and masters to the culture and tradition of the Indigenous Peoples that Bagani is part of their CUSTOMS, CULTURE AND TRADITION.

Why do you always insist on something that does not exist? Why do you always point your fingers to the military? Why do you always make false statements and allegations at the pre-tense of helping others and at the expense of the people in government, specifically the military?

ARE THEY REALLY FIGHTING OF IP EDUCATION?

Again, the reason why the schools of Salugpungan Ta’ Tanu Igkanugon Community Learning Center (STTICLC) and other schools that the Save our Schools Network (SOS) supports were closed was because of the remiss of their administrations of their responsibility in complying with the necessary documentary requirements needed by the Department of Education. To quote DepEd spokesperson on clarifying closure issue, “...there is nothing to close because none has been open...” Clearly, what the SOS has been portraying in media, in public and during their mass protests and rallies were all lies and has intent to manipulate the views of the spectators against the government and in favor to them.

Also, the issue on the closure of these schools was made one of the bases why the lumads from the hinterlands of Talaingod, Kapalong and Bukidnon were brought here in Davao as “Bakwits” aside from the militarization issue that they have been pushing since time immemorial. But the pictures discovered in the net and posted in the social media is another story, inter-related though.

Plainly, the pictures depict a tell-all story of what STTCLC and other schools that SOS is supporting are teaching to their pupils. Take a peek also videos of SOS at youtube and what these videos deliver. Needless to say, a situation that needs to be acted upon by government agencies concerned and a situation that needs to be immediately arrested.

Looking at the pictures closely, faces are familiar, and they are the faces who were brave and adamant in demanding the pull-out of the military in their community before they will go home during the rescue mission at UCCP Haran said to be perpetrated by Rep Catamco. Some of them were the IP leaders who represented themselves as the voices of their community, as the decision maker and obviously as spokesperson of the organizations who managed them in the compound. Behold, they are also the Lumads who castigated the NCIP and other government agencies during the rallies and during the militant camp-out this year outside DepEd.

The point here is that— we should look into and be vigilant about the fact that schools that specifically caters to the education of the innocent IPs are affiliated and subscribes to the teachings of the communists, the New Peoples Army (NPA) for this matter. Moreso that they are supported by left leaning organizations, the desperate groups like KARAPATAN, PASAKA, BAYAN MUNA, KMP and BAYAN, organizations that obviously are legal fronts of the NPA. May be the allegations that these schools, their administrators, their teachers and the supporters are NPA has basis and in fact, true. May be the pictures are material justification why the military are in the community of the Lumads who calls for their pull-out.

May be the Lumads, along with the desperate groups has one good reason why they call for the pull-out of the military—to give NPA full and free access to the ancestral domains of the Lumads. I suppose, our Lumads in the hinterlands needs to be educated, but definitely, not from people of SOS, not from the NPA, not from the desperate groups and not from schools like STTCLC.

3 MEMBERS OF PHILIPPINE COAST GUARD HELD HOSTAGE BY ABU SAYYAF CALLS FOR HELP

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines - Abu Sayyaf gunmen have threatened to beheaded all three of their captives taken from Dapitan City if the government will not pay the huge ransom.

The group issued its warning through a video clip posted on social media on Tuesday, showing all three hostages identified as Roberto Bulagao, barangay captain of Aliguay Island in Dapitan City, and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) personnel Seaman 2nd Class Gringo Villaruz and Seaman 1st Class Rod Pagaling.

The victims were seized last May 4 from the island resort of Aliguay Island off Dapitan City in Zamboanga del Norte and believed to be held captive by the Abu Sayyaf group in the jungle of Sulu.

In the more than three-minute video clip, the victims were all half naked, tied and blindfolded while kneeling with one of the masked gunmen holding a machete against one of the victim’s neck.

It was not clear where was the footage taken except there were trees in the area where the victims were held and presented while surrounded by eight fully armed gunmen and another taking the video.

Each of the victims were directed to speak and appealed for their safety from the possible beheading.

“I am Rod Pagaling, a coastguard, calling the government especially President Aquino, Sir Isorena (Philippine Coastguard Commandant Rear Admiral Rudy Isorena), help us, they will kill us. Have mercy on us, to the officials of the government. To our families, help us,” Pagaling said.

Villaruz also made a similar appeal for the government and the PCG.
“Please help us because they are going to behead us if their demands are not met,” he said.
Bulagao was also allowed to make his appeal and called on the local government of Dapitan and former Rep. Romeo Jalosjos and his son Rep. Bullet Jalosjos.

The Abu Sayyaf gunmen also issued a statement calling on the government to heed their demands lest they execute all the hostages.

“If you can not comply with our demand we will behead one or all of the hostages,” one of the gunmen declared.

The gunmen did not specify the demand but unconfirmed reports disclosed that the group is asking for P100 million in exchange for the release of the hostages.

IS IT REALLY A MASSACRE?

We pity those who died in Paquibato. We are saddened by their loss. As always, we reiterate…we hate violence and we prefer peaceful negotiations.

What happened to the recent incident is a serious matter. Loss of life, whether of the NPAs, the Militaries and Civilians is indeed a very serious matter.

The reports stated that the victims have with them high powered arms and explosives. However, activist groups like PASAKA and ANAKBAYAN claims that it is a heinous massacre and associated it to the so-called “fascist” government that we have and their condemnation to AFP’s Oplan Bayanihan. What has been established is that, those who were killed has with them arms and explosives and they are one of the members of the New People’s Army. So, is it really a massacre or an encounter?

Also, you did mention in your interview with one of the newspaper that one of the victims is a member of an association. Isn’t that association is also associated or perhaps another legal front of the New People’s Army?

If the PASAKA and ANAKBAYAN insist that what happened is a massacre, then how can you explain the fact or presence of the high powered arms?

If you say that evidences are planted, may be the army is very well aware that you will run after them and the government agencies will create fact finding groups to ascertain the truth, so where would there lies go? If you say its massacre, the proof that it is still has to be proven. The Commission on Human Rights is now on their way to unravel the real truth of this incident and we should just wait for its result—only then that we can conclude, if it is indeed a massacre or not.

What if the soldiers were the ones killed, would you also consider it a massacre? PASAKA and ANAKBAYAN, would you also rally for them?

WE CALL NOTHING BUT CONDEMNATION AND JUSTICE

Condemnation to the acts of the NPA!

Justice for the death of (1) Soldier and (1) 10 year old boy!

The NPAs and their other subversive supports are very active in demanding for justice even without clear and very doubtful evidences, but how come they are mum about this issue and as if this does not happened.

Even absence of the laws that protects the children like the RA 7610, RA 9262 and other laws, killing a child in an indiscriminate manner is an act that should be condemned and abhorred.

What happened to San Fernando, Bukidnon is a classic example of how the NPA think and in what manner they would achieve their goals. No matter what happened and whoever may be affected, as long as they get what they want and they think they will be successful on it, it does not matter who they will hurt, even CIVILIANS, even KIDS.

With what happened, I wonder, where are the KARAPATAN and the PASAKA who are always in the streets broadcasting the cruelty that the people in the hinterlands are experiencing and demanding for justice, calling for the closures of what they call “incapable” government agencies.

To KARAPATAN and PASAKA, isn’t this a good scoop for you? Did this does not ring a bell on your groups?

To the members of the New People’s Army, are you not yet satisfied to what the people have suffered because of you?

We CONDENM your actions! KARAPATAN and PASAKA as masters of demanding for JUSTICE, we appeal to you to help us, we hope to see you in streets condemning the acts of the NPAs.

TERMINATION OF SALUGPUNGAN SCHOOLS: DepEd's SIDE OF THE STORY

The issue on the SALUGPONGAN TA TANU IGKANUGON LEARNING CENTER (STTILC) has been trending over the summer of 2015 up to its 2nd  quarter. Several protests have been made by different sectors including the Indigenous People that had been brought to the city for the purpose of showing the public how bad and how inconsiderate the Department of Education is. The issue does not only reach the city but also to the international community and now gains sympathy from most of its spectators. It blown up out its proportion and it seems like the agencies of the government has been mum about it. Thus, the people protesting are fueled and feel that they are right with what they are saying.
Based on history, the SALUGPONGAN TA TANU IGKANUGON is founded by the tribal leaders and it means “unity of the people to defend the ancestral domain.” From this noble beginning, the organization has evolved and the tribal leaders who founded it were replaced by people not coming from the hinterlands but people coming from the city. Its decent purpose is replaced by awful ideologies-- ideologies that violated the rights of the IPs and abused their ancestral domain.
Clearly, as shown in the videos made by KILAB Multimedia, there is no question that the now STTILC is poisoning the minds of the IPs especially the kids. There is no question that included in their curriculum is the teaching of Marx, Lenin and Mao of communism. There is no question that they want to instill hatred in the mind and heart of the IPs against the government. By this kind of conditioning, they will gain sympathy and there is no question that they will be hailed as heroes of the IPs, is an exact opposite of the truth.

With this video, at least, the “other truth” will come out and will let the public decide which is more reliable and true. This does not only give chance to the Department of Education to air their side of the story but to at least provide the public a clearer picture of what really happened, and to swerve the people into believing the truth behind malicious propaganda.

FORMER REGIONAL SPOKESPERSON OF ANAKBAYAN CAPTURED DURING ENCOUNTER

The capture of Cherry Orendain sets a.k.a Alyssa Delerio or "Ka Carla" sets a factual probability, if not confirms the connections between the New People's Army and ANAKBAYAN or perhaps with other activist groups.

She was apprehended together with 5 others, seized with them are (2) IED, (2) .45 caliber pistols, (1) grenade and backpacks which contain documents.

Cherry is the daughter of retired Master Sergeant Danilo Orendain from SF, SOCOM. Cherry Orendain is an active member and the Regional Spokesperson of ANAKBAYAN, a comprehensive mass organization of the Filipino youth, advocating genuine national independence and democracy as a solution to the nation's problems. She was a prominent figure during mass protests especially on issues that involves youth.

Her capture during the combat operations of 28IB against members of the NPA speaks for itself. Is she in the area just for an exposure? Or for something deeper for the organization? And her use of aliases during the investigation aggravates her presence in the area.

Parents, children and youth whose passion and fire for nationalism is burning and are members of organizations like that of ANAKBAYAN, we should be aware and be critical enough not to have the same fate as that of Cherry. We should use our potentials and great ideas for the betterment of our country. DO NOT ASK AND SHOUT WHAT OUR COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU, ASK YOURSELVES WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY.
